Back Pain When Bending Over??

Does your back yell at you when you bend over to...
✔️ pick up toys or kids...
✔️ load the dishwasher...
✔️ take clothes out of the dryer...
✔️ clean the house...
✔️ put away Christmas decorations??

The most important part of bending is rib position! Weird right? We can bend doing all the right things...weight on heels, shift hips back, keep a neutral spine...but if our ribs stay open or flared, our spine can get angry. Why?? Because if our ribs are open, the diaphragm is being pulled forward which pulls on the spine. Also, if our ribs are open, it’s likely our abs aren’t as engaged as they should be to create intra abdominal pressure for spinal (and diaphragm) support.

When you experience back pain in any movement or position, consider your rib and diaphragm position!
